Unique Apartment Layout in Taiwan
Unique apartment layout in Taiwan
Single-story apartment designed by studio 2BOOKS design, located in the city of Sinchyu, Taiwan.
At the beginning of the project, the creators focused on color schemes and interior configurations, defining a color palette for everyday items such as the sofa, dining table, and essential household objects.
As a result, architects selected two main colors: gray and white. The hierarchy of gray appears across various textures and shades, harmonizing the space, while white enhances the subtle tones of gray.
Straight lines became another defining feature of this design, guiding the viewer’s gaze and focusing attention on specific elements. Regarding the open-plan area, one bedroom was opened up and transformed into a greenhouse. The floor surface was also expanded, and glass doors were used to blur the boundaries of the main area, making them softer and more fluid.
In the kitchen island zone, different flooring materials were chosen: a light finish contrasts vividly with the rough concrete floor. This combination effectively defines each area while preserving the open-plan layout. The island structure is made of gray-toned stainless steel. Two side wooden walls, painted with paint, add a sense of strength and reliability to the space.
