Abandoning dark tones and maximum light: renovation of an apartment in Barcelona

Before the designer started remodeling this apartment in Barcelona, the family had lived here for 16 years. There are four children in the household, and now that the youngest is already 13, the homeowner decided it was time for a renovation. The main goal was to get rid of dark wooden and gray furniture, and focus on abundant light and pastel tones. Barcelona enjoys excellent sunlight, so the aim was simply to use decor to help the sun paint the apartment in cheerful colors. The result is a traditional Spanish style: a touch of rustic, a touch of eco, with essential warm accents. The interior was enhanced with woven furniture and accessories, floral prints, and bookshelves that have been here since the apartment was first purchased. The children are nearly grown, and now the parents are beginning a new chapter in their bright, refreshed home!
