Historic house with modern apartments in Tel Aviv
The Levee project occupies a historic villa in one of Tel Aviv's oldest neighborhoods, Israel, offering guests eight spacious apartments with luxury and modern elegance, where they can feel at home. The architectural firm Bar Orian Architects restored the two-story villa for ten years, adding a rooftop penthouse whose contemporary design does not contradict the century-old architecture but creates a hybrid of sensations reflecting the spirit of the city.
The interior design studio Yael Siso Interior Architecture worked on the apartment finishes, creating eight eclectic interiors combining industrial atmosphere with refined aesthetics based on mid-century elegance and modern minimalism.
All eight apartments, ranging from 115 to 280 square meters, appear spacious and bright due to high ceilings, large windows, and floor-to-ceiling glazing in the penthouse. Despite the villa's historic appearance, the interiors are rooted in industrial aesthetics with raw concrete walls, concrete ceilings, and exposed utilities. This urban style was not a designer's whim but a tribute to the building's original structure: concrete surfaces were revealed after removing several layers of paint.
If the raw surfaces embody Tel Aviv's dynamic past, then flawless modern finishes and elegant furniture speak to the city's present. Beautiful wooden floors, minimalist glass partitions, and refined built-in furniture give the spaces a sense of unforgettable luxury, enhanced by an eclectic collection of modernist and contemporary pieces from legendary Italian brands.
