Apartments in São Paulo with area of 600 m²
Project bureau Fernanda Marques Arquitetos Associados presented stunning apartments of an art collector in an elite district of São Paulo, Brazil. The area of the two-level residence is 600 square meters and includes a private swimming pool.
The 10-meter-long pool, stretched along the entire length of the two-story living room and acting as a kind of aquarium, is separated by 8-centimeter glued glass panels. Instead of tropical fish or dolphins swimming in turquoise waters, the owners can watch family members or friends circling underwater. This surreal feeling is enhanced by lush vegetation on the pool’s roof, turning it into an artistic installation.
Modernist interiors showcase minimalist aesthetics with clean marble surfaces, neutral tones, and eclectic choices of mid-century Brazilian furniture as the perfect backdrop for the owner's art collection. The furniture in this home does not overshadow the artworks but serves as a support and counterpoint to them. Distributed throughout the main rooms, each artwork is carefully displayed using large, unobstructed wall surfaces, and a special gallery space with adjustable lighting has been created next to the dining room.
The two-level living room is the heart of the apartments. It connects at the same level to the dining room and open kitchen, and on the second floor to the main bedroom, guest room, gym, and study. Since the residence belongs to a childless couple, the main bedroom occupies a central position with views of the living room, pool, and terrace with vegetation. Privacy is easily restored thanks to foldable white panels. Moreover, one can dive directly from the terrace adjacent to the bedroom into the pool.
