K2Ld Architects project studio presented a private house in the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. The residence is located on a quiet street with variously styled houses built at different times over the past hundred years. The client wanted the house to harmoniously fit into the plot on the slope of a hill with a great view of the Dandenong Mountains. At the same time, the residence should become a home for a family across multiple generations, which meant that private zones and shared spaces were essential to appear on the plan.

The interior space of the house, although private, is flooded with natural light thanks to strategically placed windows and skylights. The use of wood and stone is repeated throughout the interior, creating a strong connection with the landscape and architecture. The neutral palette throughout the home allows attention to be focused on nature outside the window, where the changing of seasons creates different pictures, like artistic works adorning the residence.
