Combination of Scandinavian and Japanese Styles in a Danish Home Interior18 photos
Scandinavia and Japan are very far apart from each other, yet both Scandinavian and Japanese styles found their expression in the interior of this house in Denmark. These styles share many similarities: a pursuit of minimalism, functionality, and "cleanliness" of space. This is exactly what appealed to the creator of this project. A couple of years ago, she returned from Japan and set herself the goal to create an interior based on these principles. Hence, there are so many straight lines and clear forms, the space is not overloaded with color or items. Accent pieces look like ink hieroglyphs on a light parchment. Another feature of Japanese and Scandinavian interiors is attention to nature; here, natural materials are used in abundance, and large windows open onto a green courtyard. As a result, the outcome is cozy in the Scandinavian way and minimalist in the Japanese way. A wonderful friendship between peoples!
