25 sq. meter apartment in Buenos Aires

This small 25 square meter apartment is located in the Chacarita area, northern district of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The architectural studio iR arquitectura aimed to create a maximally flexible and bright space, taking into account the challenging initial conditions. By removing all unnecessary elements and leaving only a separate bathroom, an open living space with a balcony was created that fully opens up in summer and functionally expands the area, while closing in winter. Along one of the two remaining walls of the corner unit, a kitchen is installed, behind which the bathroom is hidden, and on the opposite side, a sleeping area is organized, separated from the central living room zone by a bookshelf.
