Apartment in the Rhythm of Jazz in Tokyo

The interior of a 75 square meter apartment in a prestigious area of Tokyo, Japan, was designed by the studio Tomokazu Hayakawa Architects.

Architects use the principle of syncopation in material selection: for example, transparent glass, like a note that bounces in one place and unexpectedly appears elsewhere, reappears in the partition separating the bathroom from the bedroom, and the herringbone parquet pattern repeats in a vertical tile design in the same bathroom.
