Apartments with 40 Square Meter Area in Taipei

Interior of apartment X in Taipei, Taiwan, designed by KC Design Studio is based on three principles — consistency, time, and height. For example, the kitchen and dining table are made consistently and have harmonized functions. The relaxation area symbolizes time and unites places where the family gathers for watching TV, having meals, and chatting. Height is the most interesting feature. Architects generalized that we lie down when sleeping, sit when working or reading, and maintain a vertical position throughout most of our daily activities, translating these patterns into a living space of just 40 square meters. Creating different heights within the room allowed for additional space in needed areas, saving space where possible. Additionally, it was decided to combine complex functions that can be used individually when necessary, such as an open kitchen combined with a rotating dining table.
