Boutique Hotel Soho House in a Historic Building in Amsterdam14 photos
This canal-side building in Amsterdam has a very interesting history. In the 1930s, it was originally an office for a trading company. Then, from the 1970s onward, it housed the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Amsterdam. Now, it's a boutique hotel Soho House with 79 rooms. Designer Linda Boronkai put in all her effort to transform student lecture halls into a comfortable and stylish hotel while preserving the historical heritage of the building. Guests can enjoy cozy rooms with plenty of soft furniture and textiles, and relax in the bar or lounge on the first floor after a day in the city or long walks. We particularly loved the copper baths in the rooms and the rooftop pool. And yes, walking along the canal, you would never guess that this building houses a hotel. It's quite a contrast!
