Modern and contemporary: bright apartment in Barcelona

This modern apartment in Barcelona needed a fresh look and contemporary touch. Large ornate windows, moldings, and vintage radiators look original, but it was important to let the 21st century into the home as well. We started by painting the black fireplace white, then added elements from the 1950s and 1960s to the vintage furniture from the 1920s, followed by modern furniture. The interior was not overloaded with complex colors and bulky items, but there was still room for such quirky items as a hanging coat by the bed or a stack of magazines in the fireplace. A very bright and pleasant interior with vintage touches!
