Apartment in Scandinavian Style on Taiwan
Scandinavian design has had a strong impact on the aesthetic tastes of the modern world, spreading its influence across all corners of the globe. One such example is an apartment designed by Nordico Design on Taiwan.
A solid brick wall separates the entrance hall from the living room. Two-sided railway clocks allow residents to check the time when entering the apartment or leaving the house.
Despite the generally calm color palette with white and light olive walls, here nearly all the colors of the rainbow are represented. In a cold climate with long and dark winters, these cheerful hues help lighten the weight of gloomy weather.
Not only does the open layout allow sunlight to penetrate deep into the home, but it also enables homeowners, who are finishing up cooking in the kitchen, to stay connected with guests watching TV.
Large pendant lights from Copenhagen designers Andreas Lund and Jakob Rudebeck embody simple and functional forms associated with Scandinavian design.
In a convenient bedroom, a wall sconce styled like a deer's head hangs above the wooden headboard of the bed — a traditional decoration found in Scandinavian hunting cabins.
