The world of this 80 square meter apartment, designed by Metaforma Architekci in Poznan, Poland, is extremely clear — simple forms, minimalist color choices, and natural materials.
The apartment was purchased in a run-down state, and the first thing the architects did was dismantle the walls in the entrance area. This created maximum open space, well-lit by sunlight thanks to large windows.
Another change involved modifying the existing staircase leading to the mezzanine. The architects proposed a staircase partially along the glass facade, which helped organize the living room space better.
All furniture in the apartment is designed so that it forms a cohesive whole.
The project features a working area located on the mezzanine floor. The main advantage of this is that it provides access to a spacious rooftop terrace.
Design solutions used in the apartment's interior reflect its inhabitants' needs. The masculine perspective left its mark on such features as material and color economy. Industrial metal, concrete, and graphite structures are warmed by the warmth of wooden floors, doors, and staircase steps. Masculinity here means simple yet expressive, but not crude or cold.
