Loft in South Tyrol
Casa FWH is an alpine loft designed by Jab studio in Vipiteno, Italy. The geometric staircase and eclectic furniture, together with numerous wooden surfaces, create a unique character for this apartment under a mansard roof in South Tyrol.
"Tradition and innovation are united in a style that considers wood as the main element of the interior, yet it is used in finishes differently, according to a more contemporary approach," say the designers.
The double-height living room is located in the part of the apartment where a wooden beam runs the entire length of the space, and three skylights offer views of the picturesque mountain landscape.
Sliding doors made from light wood separate the living room from the dining area, where the floor is laid in different directions to define the space.
The geometric staircase, distinguished by a dark metal frame and light wooden steps, leads to the bedroom located on the attic above the kitchen. The simpler finish includes white mesh panels covering the wardrobe doors and a metal balustrade.
Wooden details are also used in the bathroom design, where they act as a dividing zone between two materials — tiles and plaster.
