Apartment in a 1970s Building in Israel40 photos
Studio Architect Oshir Asaban renovated a 150 square meter residence in a 1970s building in Ramat Gan, Israel. The existing interior was completely transformed and the space redesigned to meet the needs of the new tenants.
The open-plan living room is filled with natural daylight and surrounded by large windows, offering full appreciation of the rich vegetation surrounding the house. The kitchen is connected to the living room through a wide opening, while a utility room is located on the opposite side. A round dining table stands by the large window overlooking the green courtyard, maintaining a strong visual connection with the living room and balcony.
An eight-meter iron shelving unit defines the living room space, giving it a loft character. The original balcony was preserved to emphasize the apartment's connection to its architectural context. Meanwhile, the balcony windows were enlarged and plants were added to create a sense of a private house standing in a garden.
The project's material palette is characterized by a monochromatic tone with elements of brass, copper, iron, and wood. This strict noble style, which has not aged since the 1950s, offers endless possibilities for various solutions.
