Penthouse in Beirut
The renovation of a two-story penthouse with an area of 650 square meters, located in Wadi Abu Jamiil in the Central District of Beirut, Lebanon, was carried out by architects from the firm Platau. The original layout of the residence was characterized by poor spatial connectivity and a narrow main foyer.
It turns around the corner to maintain the same design for the living room wall. Steel profiles protrude from the leather, forming door handles and shelves.
Another distinctive feature of the residence is the staircase that appears to float in space, suspended from the ceiling on vertical steel profiles, emphasizing its lightness.
In addition to the wooden leather-covered core, other surfaces of the penthouse include white walls, white marble floors, and white steel framing for the staircase. Various rooms are designed as a recurring system of white walls and walls with wooden cladding, into which doors, shelves, and wardrobes are integrated.
