Apartment with Double Height Ceiling in São Paulo
The main criterion that guided architect Juliana Camargo when choosing an apartment for her family, which consists of herself, her husband and a young daughter, was that it should be spacious and well-lit. A raw, unrefined space of 200 square meters with double height ceiling in São Paulo, Brazil, was filled by the architect with creative ideas she had gathered since student days.
The project is full of interesting details such as a mezzanine laundry room suspended by steel cables, stairs made from solid wood steps that seem to hang in the air, and sliding doors that either conceal or reveal access to rooms depending on the situation. "I wanted to eliminate corridors and make movement through the apartment as free as possible," explains the architect.
