Using the concept of T-shaped partitions, the studio Itay Friedman Architects carried out the renovation of a 65 square meter apartment in Prenzlaeufer Berg, an area of old urban housing in Berlin, Germany.

The architects' strategy was to create a structure that functions as both a system of dividing walls and a space for storage.

This approach created one issue, namely the feeling of reduced living space. To address this, white was chosen as the dominant color to give the space a cleaner and lighter appearance.

The client also wanted to preserve the atmosphere of the old building, previously used as workers' housing, typical for this Berlin district. Therefore, the architects incorporated reused elements of old construction alongside modern features.

As a result, they created a spacious living and working environment within a small space without exceeding the limited budget.
