Two-Level Apartment in Old House in Stockholm
Two-Level Apartment in Old House in Stockholm
Project #F015 — a minimalist interior designed by studio Förstberg Ling in a small building with an area of 50 square meters in Stockholm, Sweden. Only the shell of the old rectangular house with a steeply sloped roof remains. The feature of the construction was a large window located in the ceiling, generously flooding the room with light. Architects added a second floor occupying only part of the house space to preserve access to light from the roof window. The total area of the apartment increased to 90 square meters as a result.
Exposed wooden beams of the new ceiling are complemented by finishing materials including light-colored wood, white walls, and concrete floors. This neutral palette creates a favorable backdrop for a collection of design objects, as the apartment owner is a co-founder of the design studio Form Us With Love and the online store Hem, and his home is filled with items from both commercial ventures.
