An apartment of 100 square meters in Trnava, Slovakia, is located in a former monastery built in 1719. In the middle of the XX century, it was converted into a residential building. The project authors JRKVC set out to transform this space with many temporal layers into a clean and functional living environment. Architects managed to highlight the strengths of old construction methods while staying within a reasonable budget.
The owners are a young childless couple. Currently, this is an open-plan space, but with minimal intervention in the future, it can be transformed into a three-room apartment.
