Rental Apartment for Young Couple

The Tsai Residence was designed by Tai & Architectural Design studio and is located in Taipei, Taiwan. Nowadays, in major cities around the world, property prices do not allow young people to purchase residences they can call home and plan their lives in. These are often small spaces, with a very modest budget for decoration, or even just rental apartments, as in the case of this project. The young couple approached architects asking to decorate this apartment in such a way that, after five years when the contract ends, they could return it to its original state as required by law. For that purpose, all walls were painted white, making the apartment light, clean and visually more spacious. All utilities under the ceiling were left exposed. The decor aimed for minimalism. The living room in the apartment is combined with the dining area, and the kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, office, and storage room are separated. All furniture is freestanding so that residents can use it in another home when they leave this rental property.
