In the San Francisco house project, architects from Michael Hennessey Architecture aimed to increase the amount of natural light entering the interior and provide a view of the nearby park. The 367 square meter space accommodates the main living area on the first floor with oak veneer finishing that runs along the entire length of the room, connecting the kitchen and dining area into one unified space. Panoramic windows in this part of the house and the main bedroom offer a dramatic view of the city. A garage is located in the basement, providing easy access to the space from the street. The guest bedroom is on the lower level, and the other three rooms are on the upper floor. The staircase adjoins the northern wall of the plot, creating an opportunity to look through the building and breaking the traditional notion of privacy in private homes.
