Restoring an old apartment with a limited budget is a challenging task, but it's very relevant to our current realities. Doing it well enough to meet the standards of top interior design publications is a task of even greater difficulty. However, designers from the Taiwanese studio Aya Living Group recently did an excellent job restoring an apartment in one of Taipei's older apartment buildings. The main architectural solution was the installation of ceiling rails, which allow for space zoning using sliding doors. Choosing affordable furniture from Scandinavian-style brands supported the overall style and kept costs within budget. White walls and an open-plan layout create a lot of natural light. The color choices are worth attention and form a color-blocking scheme: combinations of various colors from the same tonal palette. That's great!
