The apartment was designed for a young man passionate about the East, particularly Japan. This became the starting point for creating an interior in this style. The original layout of the apartment did not align with the principles of Japanese philosophy, but using techniques from Japanese masters of spatial design, it was possible to give the interior a certain spirit of asceticism and restraint. The main space of the apartment is divided not into rooms, but into «functional zones» using screens, traditional arches, and floor level changes. Screens make the apartment's space light and transparent; rearranging them allows updating the interior almost daily. A rice lamp, tatami made of straw, and cushions with stone-like textures created a cozy corner separating from the noise and hustle of modern life. The unique color of the interior is enhanced by Japanese samurai armor, which greets guests right at the entrance. These are authentic pieces, specially brought from Japan. Lighting in a Japanese-style interior is also part of the composition. A Japanese home cannot be submerged in darkness. Soft and diffused light should highlight the few interior items, emphasizing their uniqueness and significance.
