A modern tropical luxury home with clean lines and panoramic windows, surrounded by palm trees and lush greenery, showcasing contemporary architecture and design.

Architecture Rooted in Nature

Located in the dense tropical forests of Itacaré, Bahia, 01 TVN House (Casa 01) by Saraiva e Associados is a residence designed to blend into the landscape. Complying with strict ecological constraints and condominium regulations, architects minimized intervention in the terrain, embedding the structure into the slope while offering each bedroom with a bathroom a continuous view of the sea.

The concept was not to dominate the environment, but to merge with it, creating a home that feels like a natural extension of the forest canopy. Privacy and harmony with nature were key drivers of the project.

Structural Ingenuity in Challenging Conditions

Construction on the steep coastal terrain of Itacaré required advanced technical solutions.

  • Reinforced foundations for secure anchoring of the house on the slope.

  • Drainage and impermeable barriers to combat heavy rains and humidity.

  • Protective construction technologies developed for durability in Brazil's aggressive coastal climate.

This rigor in construction ensures that the residence is not only aesthetically refined but also engineered for strength.

Material Palette: Minimalist and Sustainable

Saraiva e Associados selected materials that combine modern elegance with ecological efficiency:

  • Ultracompact surfaces for durability.

  • Minimal cladding to reduce visual clutter.

  • Quartzite, chosen for its resistance to heat, salt, and moisture.

This minimalist palette creates a calm tactile environment, harmonizing with the natural surroundings and enduring tropical conditions.

Additional Architectural Elements

Beyond the main residence, two separate architectural structures expand the project's scope:

Orchid Botanical Garden

Pre-fabricated laminated pine prism, created to house a collection of over 1500 orchid plants. This greenhouse also serves as a botanical archive and decorative resource, organically integrating botany and architecture.

Bamboo and Rattan Beach Bar

Ordered through S+A Vietnam, this organic, curved structure was made from bamboo and rattan and assembled on-site by a specialized team. Light, flexible, and deeply connected to coastal leisure culture, the beach bar creates a striking contrast to the rectangular main residence.

Family, Privacy, and Togetherness

Casa 01 was designed for a large multi-generational family that values both intimacy and communal gatherings. The layout carefully balanced:

  • Private zones for rest and rejuvenation.

  • Common spaces for family interaction.

  • Outdoor extensions that foster togetherness while preserving seclusion from the outside world.

This duality makes 01 TVN House both a private sanctuary and a social hub, reflecting the family's lifestyle.

Model of Modern Brazilian Coastal Living

01 TVN House by Saraiva e Associados demonstrates how architecture can blend with nature without sacrificing modern comfort. From panoramic sea views and carefully selected materials to the orchid garden and bamboo beach bar, the project is a masterclass in tropical residential design.

It stands as a model of sustainable luxury housing in Brazil, balancing ecological respect, technical resilience, and cultural identity.
