Ceiling Designs in Bedroom in Various Styles

We present to your attention a selection of photos of successful modern interiors, in which gypsum board structures of various complexity and purpose were used.
Let's briefly explore the concept of 'modern design'.
When talking about something modern, people often use the word 'modern', but can all modern styles be put under one umbrella?
Pop Art
Pop art style is characterized by repetition of motifs, patterns and various designs. This style is usually preferred by cheerful, active and somewhat rebellious people who consider pop art in the interior a kind of protest.
Design of a bedroom in this style may suit only 'night owls', for whom there is no problem falling asleep, but waking up is already a task. Bright 'acid' colors and variety of forms in the morning can have a beneficial effect.
Considering that pop art is minimal furniture and maximum accents, it's better to hint at pop art in the interior using eye-catching decorative elements: walls of such a bedroom can be decorated with posters featuring Marilyn Monroe or American dollars shot in close-up. Glossy decorative elements should shine and reflect sunlight.
As for gypsum board, walls in a 'pop art' bedroom can be decorated with bright volumetric circles with glossy surfaces or recesses of different shapes in acid tones. Moreover, circular or oval forms are most in demand for pop art.

Minimalism
The name of the style speaks for itself. There should be nothing extra or glaring in such a bedroom. The basis of the style, as is not surprising, is often not a special element of interior design but rather proper lighting. And there should be lots of light. Therefore, curtains are better replaced with light sheer blinds in light shades, maximally increasing the window opening.
In the interior, only restrained natural colors: for example, dark wood will blend well with white and gray tones. Perfectly flat surfaces, using modern artificial materials alongside natural ones: for example, plastic with leather.
It's better to build the room design around a large bed in as simplified a form as possible. Monochromatic textiles and minimal decoration.
Gypsum board in such an interior can be used for constructing partitions (when installing an open wardrobe or, as in the photo, for room zoning), or as a forming material (to create false fireplaces or functional niches skillfully integrated into the wall design).

High-Tech
This style is the embodiment of high technology. The style implies that the main element of a room is not its framing but rather its base, i.e., not decorative coating but rather the use of innovative engineering structures. This can involve such things as lights that turn on with a clap or even the bed itself — one of the latest trends in fashion is the transforming bed.
A few words about lighting. Spotlights would fit perfectly instead of central lighting. In turn, in terms of organizing spot lighting, nothing is better than a suspended gypsum board system on the ceiling. Gypsum board ceilings with spotlights for a high-tech bedroom should still look restrained (see the photo below). Spot lighting can be installed not only on ceilings but also on walls and floors.
The use of metal (e.g., chrome or nickel steel), matte glass and synthetic innovative materials is welcomed in the interior (as seen in the photo below).

Fusion
The 'fusion' style is also called 'improved eclecticism'. In a fusion interior, elements of two or three different styles should be combined, sometimes diametrically opposite but skillfully woven together. A typical example of such a style is Eastern or African accessories arranged neatly on a glass table in the spirit of high-tech or minimalism.
The fusion style has no typical colors, materials or even furniture. It's impossible to define such elements since there are no strict rules or limitations for this style (as seen in the photo below, one color palette is used but the interior contains completely different items). First and foremost, one should rely on personal taste and... moderation.
For example, a patterned bed and an antique baroque chandelier can be placed next to each other, walls in minimalism style—white and perfectly flat, a soft carpet laid on the floor, and an interior complemented with a cabinet with transparent or matte glass doors.
One of the main advantages of this style is that a bedroom can be decorated according to one's own budget and imagination—no special expenses are required if there is a more affordable alternative.
Gypsum board in such an interior can be used as a material for leveling walls, installing functional niches and partitions that zone the room (as seen in the photo below).

Low-Tech
A style that is almost opposite to high-tech. Its motto: only simplicity and affordability.
This style can be called the most economical in terms of bedroom design. According to the catalog provided by the manufacturer, the consumer chooses already ready-made design options, and the process of renovating the room is simplified even more by the fact that all elements shown in the catalog can be immediately purchased from the manufacturer's warehouse. Among the most well-known ones are the idea catalogs from IKEA and BO CONCEPT.
By the way, none of them hesitates to use gypsum board structures in interior design: most often, gypsum board partitions are found as a way to separate the storage area (clothing, inventory, bedding) from the relaxation zone.

Finishing a bedroom with gypsum board, as seen in the photos provided, can be varied: even one and the same structure looks differently in various styles and interiors.
