We've collected 7 real projects and tips from our heroes to help speed up the renovation

One-room apartment for rent
Timeframe: 2.5 months

Owners planned to use the apartment for rental, so the interior was made universal. They allocated 2.5 months for the entire renovation — finishing, interior design, and major bathroom works. They saved time by following a strict plan and schedule that everyone stuck to — contractors, designer, and owners. By the way, the apartment owners didn't monitor the progress at all — they just handed over the keys and moved in after 2.5 months.

Two-room apartment for young parents
Timeframe: Three months

The owners were expecting a baby, so they had to act fast but not compromise on quality. They saved time on renovation because they quickly decided on finishing materials, calculated quantities, and ordered everything upfront. This way, nothing had to be changed or reordered during the process.

Four-room apartment for a large family
Timeframe: Three months

The project was created for a family of four. The designer’s task was to arrange two children's rooms, a living room, and parents' bedroom with minimal costs. They saved both money and time by not doing a major re-planning, but working with what was already there. For example, they divided the living room into two parts using glass partitions and turned a three-room apartment into a four-room one.

Spacious two-room apartment for a young woman
Timeframe: Three months

The main wish of the client was to get a free and open space. So, demolition of internal walls was unavoidable. However, they accelerated the renovation by skipping finishing work — or rather, not doing it at all. The ceiling was left almost unfinished — they preferred concrete covered with paint. They did the same with the walls, painting bricks in a light shade.

Two-room apartment in a Khrushchyovka for a young couple

Timeframe: Two months

To renovate the dark Khrushchyovka, owners followed the principle of ‘less demolition — more construction’ and saw beauty in everything. This greatly accelerated the process. For example, they didn’t cut grooves in brick and installed ceramic switches with external wiring.

Two-room apartment with a ‘princess’-style renovation
Timeframe: Two months

The owners managed to turn a two-room apartment into a three-room one in just two months. They focused not only on personal taste but also on the availability of finishing materials and furniture. Only beds were custom-made, but the sketches were ready before the renovation started — to ensure everything was on schedule.

Three-room apartment in a New York style
Timeframe: One month

The owners completed the renovation in just one month. Despite the interior being democratic, the apartment looks very stylish and unique. For example, the sink was made from an old bucket, and the dresser was built from kitchen cabinets. The finishing was simple yet tasteful. All walls and ceiling were painted with high-quality acrylic white paint, and the floors (old but solid and even parquet) were painted with special gray paint.
