Colors That Haven't Had Time to Get Old: Example from Sweden
Natural color palette helps soften the harsh climate of northern countries and make the home a bit warmer. Brown, linen, sand, olive, gray, light ochre — all these colors blend well together, suit any space and don't get boring quickly. This warm and cozy four-room apartment is proof of that.

The living room and dining area in the apartment are combined. The walls were painted in a pale olive color. It serves as a background for all interior details at the same time, yet remains a distinct element that clearly stands out in the living room.

The dining area and the living room are separated by a functional partition, which includes storage spaces. For spatial zoning, designers also used decorative elements such as a bronze bust and a live plant wall near the dining table. Vertical greening not only serves a decorative purpose but also cleans the air in the room.

Through an arch, the kitchen can be seen from the dining area. It is the smallest space in the apartment, so to visually expand it, designers used a mirror backsplash. The kitchen in the apartment is a perfect example of how earth tones blend together: dark brown cabinets, sand-colored walls, and light gray glossy worktops.

Natural color combinations are also used in the bedrooms. Warmth and airiness here are created through layered linen monochrome textiles — pillows, blankets, and curtains.

The bathroom in the apartment is standard and convenient. Gray tiles here blend well with the same olive-colored walls.

Another interesting detail in the apartment is a loft-style hallway. The pale olive background is preserved here as well, but brick in the finish, a Moroccan carpet, and iron barrels instead of chairs clearly stand out against the overall interior. Additionally, in place of typical dressers and wardrobes, designers placed a synthesizer and added an extra relaxation zone by the window. The only thing that gives away this hallway is a clothing rack and a shoe shelf. An interesting solution.
