Bright Summer House in Southern Spain
Christina and her family had long dreamed of a country house. Their dream came true. Now each summer they come to southern Spain to escape the urban rhythm. But first, they needed to beautify the house to make it truly cozy.
Light shades dominate in the interior: white walls, light furniture, natural fabrics — but what makes it special are numerous bright accents.

Some of the furniture and interior items were made by Christina herself. She buys vintage pieces, then restores, repaints or ages them. In short, she adds her own vision and pours her soul into them. Thanks to the freedom to bring their ideas to life, she and her husband and son Gillam have arranged the house exactly as they wanted.
I spent a lot of time finding handmade items, but affordable ones. It turned out that such a combination is rare, so I decided to do everything myself.
The owners combined the kitchen and living room. This way, no matter what each family member is doing — you're still close to everyone else. The central element here is the ‘marble island’. In reality, this is a bar counter with a marble countertop. Christina considers it a decoration, around which she gathered all the other decor elements. This countertop was ordered based on an individual sketch.

I love expressing my imagination. I never leave things as they are when I find them. That’s why the house turned out to be so unique.

The doors set the tone for the entire house. They are made from natural wood. After purchasing, Christina aged them by hand.

The bedroom is vibrant but not shouty. This effect was achieved by combining warm textile tones and natural materials like linen and wooden furniture. The main accent in the bedroom is wallpaper with ferns.

I thought for a long time about how to decorate the bedroom, but couldn’t come up with a general idea. When I saw the fern wallpaper, I imagined everything else around it.

The bathroom is made from eco-friendly materials: bamboo and wood. The sink and storage unit were aged by hand, just like the doors.

Another interesting feature of the house is that it has two terraces. One is perfect for watching the sunrise, and the other for watching the sunset.

Our wonderful house stands out from typical houses in this part of Spain. It is modern yet in the country style.
