Cozy Apartment Under a Gabled Roof: Example from Sweden
Wide gabled roofs are one of the distinctive features of Swedish architecture. They unite main rooms and utility spaces, and can even stretch across several floors. Snow does not accumulate on gabled roofs. But for an interior designer, this architectural feature can become a challenge.

The author of this project was not afraid of the unusual ceiling and decided to make an accent on it. A light, cool interior needed warm natural details, but they were wanted to be applied precisely.

To achieve this, wooden beams were constructed. They stand out well against white walls and ceiling but look natural, as if they have always been there. Each beam is attached to a light fixture with a natural tone – green.

The apartment has an open layout, and the kitchen became part of the living room. All furniture modules are light in color and almost indistinguishable from other furniture by design. It's hard to tell at first glance whether you're looking at a kitchen cabinet or closed bookshelves.

The kitchen storage system works on the principle of hiding what shouldn't be visible. It's convenient to cook here, but you will never guess where the pots, blender, and cups are hidden.

Contrasts easily coexist on a white background. Simple wooden details, modern furniture, and contemporary appliances fit well on it.

In the living room, the view is drawn to a deep blue sofa. But it's not the only relaxation area: there is also space by the window and an open balcony. The designer expanded the usable space of the apartment using a terrace. There is little room here, but enough warm light and green plants. What else is needed for relaxation?
