Brick Walls, Loft Bed, and Balcony Room – Unusual Loft Design by Designer
Would you consider adopting a dog in a one-room apartment? Designer Anastasia Antrupova adopted not only a dog but also a rabbit. See how she organized the space for all family members
Designer Anastasia Antrupova decided to transform a 43-square-meter one-room apartment into a studio. The highlight of the space were three-meter-high ceilings, which inspired Anastasia to make some interesting design choices.
The renovation took seven months, as much of the interior was handmade. For example, the doors she liked cost about 100 thousand rubles. Therefore, Anastasia decided to repaint and age the regular doors herself.
Entry Hall The entry hall is styled in a loft theme. Wallpapers mimicking concrete and wood were used to complement the wooden ceiling. Metal pipe light fixtures were purchased on AliExpress.

Storage in the entry hall is provided by a chest of drawers, a coat rack, and a shoe shelf. The shelf was white IKEA, which Anastasia repainted to match the pipe color. The entry hall became very spacious and stylish.
Wardrobe There are no wardrobes in the apartment. The wardrobe in the entry hall is the main storage system with shoe and clothing shelves from IKEA.

Every centimeter of space in the apartment is maximally utilized. Therefore, the wardrobe has a secret compartment that the owners call the 'door to Narnia'.
Bedroom From the entry hall, we enter the main room where the bedroom is immediately visible. The bed is placed on a platform. This is the very 'door to Narnia'.
By the way, the platform also has storage space. Currently, it holds two sets of wheels, a Christmas tree, and many repair items.
The bedroom is located along the corridor in the entry hall. To shield from unwanted eyes, a curtain completely covers the bed.
The wall opposite Anastasia decorated with a world map featuring markers of her travels and photo reports.
The platform was designed together with the construction supervisor. The mattress was placed in a depression on slats.
The sleeping area is highlighted with purple color. The lighting was designed using suspended fittings without shades, which suits the loft style better.

The headboard of the bed is made from soft panels. The designer made them on order and glued each square to the wall.

A soft carpet lies on the floor around the mattress.
Living Room From the bedroom, we immediately enter the living room. The same platform becomes a place for the television.
The storage system in the living room is made from IKEA frames. The doors were custom-made. The walls are decorated with a fresco.

Wooden boards and beams decorate the ceiling throughout the apartment.
Balcony We move to the balcony from the living room. The cold space was insulated during renovation, so it is now comfortable. The idea for the board finish came from a manicure salon.

They chose a green color for the finish. Anastasia beautifully incorporated this color into details. The white IKEA cabinet was decorated by hand.
The balcony is multifunctional. In addition to being a home for the rabbit Knopka, it houses a workspace and relaxation area. There is also a convenient clothes dryer.
Kitchen Opposite the bedroom and living room is the kitchen. It is located above floor level. This decision was made to have a bar counter and a regular dining table.

The living room area has laminate flooring, while the kitchen has ceramic granite. The threshold is decorated with patchwork tiles. The gap between them is closed with a plastic molding.
The dining table was also designed by herself. The column that supports it is made of brick in a loft style. The countertop was made from longitudinal cross-section of karagach.

The refrigerator is hidden in a niche behind the table.

On the kitchen, they decided to abandon upper cabinets and only keep the lower storage system.
The countertop was made from laminated particle board. The sink is made of artificial stone. The walls are covered with replicas of real Peter's imperial bricks. They were protected with tempered glass to prevent staining.
The loft theme was completed with a metal duct for the exhaust fan and lighting. The fixture consists of three separate suspended fittings and a self-made base made from painted profiles.
Additional storage spaces, a microwave oven, and a convection oven are located in a separate cabinet. There is also a dog bed and bowls here.
Bathroom From the entry hall, we enter the bathroom. The floor here is continuous and extends onto the wall behind the sink. The remaining walls are tiled with ceramic granite in steel color and decorated with mosaic.

The bathroom has three zones: the shower area, sink, and toilet. The last zone is separated by a partition made of glass blocks — an excellent solution for small spaces.
The pride of the apartment owner is the ceiling. The standard LED strip was glued to the concrete ceiling and decorated with larch rails. It looks impressive!

The countertop for the sink was also made by hand. They ordered two pieces of particle board and supports from sanitary metal pipes.
In the small bathroom, a vertical-load washing machine was installed to increase the shower area. Additional storage space was placed above the machine.
