Checklist of items that ensure your interior will never be called «simple»

An expensive-looking renovation and an expensive renovation are sometimes two completely different things. Let's explore together with designers what details to focus on to avoid overdoing the «luxury» and achieve a harmonious and impactful interior.

Flooring

The floor is often the foundation of an interior. It's one of those renovation expenses where it's truly worth spending money both aesthetically and practically. Quality flooring should be beautiful and durable.

«When the house has natural material flooring, you can easily save on a rug. Walking on such floors is pure pleasure», says Klavdia Luchenko. In one of her recent projects, the designer used travertine tile mimicking marble and oak engineered wood in other rooms.

But it's much more convenient to select the right flooring by viewing it in person and comparing it with samples of other finishing materials, wallpapers, wall panels, and furniture. And now this is possible!

The Premio trade gallery has opened in the Kaushsky Court shopping complex. It features interior boutiques of leading European manufacturers of finishing materials and furniture showrooms. The range is wide: Premio offers trendy and classic items that make the interior look expensive and modern. Moreover, choosing timeless finishes will save you money — you won't have to redo the renovation for years to come.

Lighting Fixtures

One interesting detail can set the tone for the entire interior. Such an accent could be an original and expensive light fixture, like in Anna Krapivko's project. Unusual metal spheres with glass inlay and faceting look as if they were recently purchased at a New York antique store. Meanwhile, the affordable decor of the rest of the interior harmonizes with this statement.

Plumbing Fixtures

An unusual bathtub or sink will draw the attention of a refined aesthetic faster than the most expensive marble tile. Sophisticated forms or an interesting mixer design can give more shine to the interior than a gold bathtub. This principle is followed by Maria Polyanska. In one of her projects, in an ascetic bathroom, all the emphasis is placed on beautiful plumbing fixtures.

Wall Finishing

An accent in interior design can be made using finishing materials with minimal furniture. An example of such a solution is the project by designers Ileda By. In one space, they managed to find room for mirrors, paint, and geometric tiles on the walls, as well as vibrant floors mimicking marble with green veins. It looks modern and expensive.

Texture and Color

The highest level of mastery is to make an interior look expensive through the right combination of textures and colors. This requires careful planning down to the smallest detail. The main rule: define what will be the background and what will be the accent, and don't try to combine everything expensive in one interior at once.

«Walls and furniture were specifically made as a background for decor and paintings — the owner collects art. The canvases are placed on a commode with American walnut veneer and lacquer, which blends beautifully with the unusual chair. The color tones in the paintings are echoed in abstract patterns on the rug», designers from Home Emotions explained how they applied this rule in a Moscow four-room apartment.
