Simple materials, minimal time, a bit of imagination – and you no longer have to think about where to put your tea cup while engrossed in the plot of a new bestseller.

How many times have you been settling into a chair with a book and looking for somewhere to place your cup so as not to spill it with an accidental movement? We found a solution to this problem: a stand for the armrest that is easy to make yourself, so nothing will distract you from the plot of the next bestseller.

You Will Need:

3 pieces of wood of the same width, cut at 45 degrees at the joints; wood glue; masking tape; spray paint; fine sandpaper.

Step 1: Sand the Wood

First, make sure the dimensions of the boards fit the armrest of the chair where you plan to mount the stand. In our example, we used pieces measuring 28, 24 and 12 centimeters, but the sizes should be determined individually. Before starting work, sand both sides of the wood with fine sandpaper.

Step 2: Assemble the Construction

Glue the boards together at the joints and wait for the glue to dry. Before painting the stand, cover areas where paint should not reach with masking tape.
