Book lovers need sufficient space for storage. The designer of the project took note of the clients' passion for reading and arranged bookshelves and a library in the living room in every room.

When designing interiors for this family, it was important not only to consider each member's preferences but also to maintain the overall concept of the entire project. The designer from OnePlace studio decorated an apartment for a family of book lovers and organized enough space to store books in every room. A large library was also included in the central part of the house - the living room. More details about his work were provided by studio head Alexey Kovyazin.

General Information

Area:

110 square meters

City:

Krasnodar

Designer:

Alexey Kovyazin from OnePlace Studio

Owner:

A couple in their middle years with a teenage son

In 2011, Alexey Kovyazin graduated from Kuban State Technological University, Faculty of Construction and Real Estate Management. He began working on design during his university years. Today, he leads his own studio Oneplace.

Client and Preferences

The project's clients are a family of three. A couple in their middle years with a 14-year-old son. The parents work together in their company, love traveling, and read a lot. Their son is a schoolboy who is into rock music. Their main wish was to organize a library and a reading area for books. They also wanted to reflect a mix of styles in the interior: a bit of ethnic, modernity, and classicism. By the way, at the time of construction, the kitchen was already done, and they requested not to touch it, so all visualizations were created without considering the kitchen space.

Relocation

No relocation was needed for the project, as walls and partitions were in the right places and divided rooms proportionally. How to Decorate an Interior for Book Lovers: Real Example from Krasnodar

Storage

In the parents' bedroom, we organized a cabinet with sliding doors and storage space under the bed. It features a special lifting mechanism that makes it easy to access without effort. In the son's room, we set up a similar storage method and added a chest of drawers for small items and a bookcase.

Lighting

The lighting in the living room is divided into two zones. The first is the main zone, where a chandelier is located. The second zone is the library area. In the child's room, the lighting consists of primary light provided by a chandelier and auxiliary light in the form of backlighting for the brick wall.

Color

We selected color palettes for each room individually based on the owners' preferences. In the child's room, a rebellious interior was created, fitting a beginning rock musician. For the parents' bedroom, we chose a calm but vibrant color scheme. In the living room, neutral beige tones with contrasting wood colors are present. In the bathrooms, we also blended light soft tones with wooden finishes.

Decor and Textiles

We tried to choose textiles and decor so that they echoed the surrounding interior and color scheme of each room.

Style

Characterizing the style of this project with just one word is not easy. Classic elements such as moldings, wardrobes, and bedside tables are present. Chandeliers made from natural materials allude to ethnic styles. Modern style is less evident than the previous two, so I would say that this is a rather eclectic interior.

Challenges

The project is currently in the 3D visualization stage, and no difficulties have arisen so far.

Timeline

Based on my forecasts, if there are no logistics delays, the apartment renovation will be completed within 2-3 months.

Budget

Approximately $50,000.
