6 Ideas for Setting Up Two Home Offices
In recent years, more and more people prefer to work from home — it's comfortable and saves time spent commuting to the office. However, for couples where both are freelancers, an inevitable question arises: how to set up two workspaces at home? The same issue appears for parents of school-age children. We've gathered several options tailored to different living spaces.
1. Separate Offices
The ideal solution is two full-sized offices or two children's rooms equipped with study desks. First, this allows for personal space without intrusion from others; second, it provides comfortable working conditions with no distractions like phone calls or Skype conversations. Setting up an office is simple: decorate it in calm, pleasing tones with subtle decor to create a work atmosphere. For easy access to documents, bookshelves and shelves are useful.

2. Two in One
Unfortunately, it can be hard to find space for two offices in an urban apartment. In such cases, try working together: place desks parallel or set up two workstations at one long table along a wall. Ensure natural light is evenly distributed across both workspaces.

3. Kitchen Corner
If working at one table isn't your preference, or you're worried that children might distract each other, consider moving one workspace to an alternative area like the kitchen. Here you can use either a kitchen table or build a small workspace into a corner of the room.

4. Bedroom Office
A compact workspace can be created in a bedroom without requiring large space. Install a long narrow desk along the window or build a square workspace into a niche — and your business nook is ready.

5. Balcony or Loggia
Don't hesitate to properly insulate your loggia, and you’ll get additional space in the house for setting up an office for one or even two people. There are many advantages to this setup: first, you save space in the apartment; second, there's more natural light during the day than in other rooms; third, a loggia is relatively isolated from the living area, offering fewer distractions for focus. Of course, for evening work on the balcony, good lighting is essential — built-in and desk lamps.

6. Alternative Solutions
Beyond the methods listed above, there are many creative ways to incorporate an additional workspace into your home. For example, you could clear out old clutter from a storage room and place a desk there. Or create a workspace under the stairs if you live in a house. Ultimately, for such a purpose, you might even give up built-in wardrobes and reconsider storage systems in the home.
