Villa Apollo by Block 722
Block 722 designed Villa Apollo in Greece. The villa is located in the small town of Vassiliki on the southern edge of the island of Lefkada. There is no more beautiful place for a villa, as it offers breathtaking views both from inside and from the endless pool on the terrace.

Based on the surrounding landscape, Villa Apollo by Block 722 is situated on the southern edge of the Greek island of Lefkada. Completed at the beginning of 2021, the project seamlessly blends modern architecture with nature, maximizing context and respecting the green environment. Techniques such as green roof and underground construction were used to restore the landscape, minimizing intervention and recreating plant zones with local grasses and flora.
Block 722 was invited to design a private holiday home, complemented by an additional building with four guest rooms. The site is located on a rocky shore with views of the blue waters of the Ionian Sea. Access to the project is from above via a wide ramp. From there, a series of concrete terraces and a narrow natural path lead to a small, secluded stone beach below. The building's form does not obstruct the view; it works as an additional element on the site, enhancing and revealing the stunning panoramic vista. As one moves through the space of the object, a play between visible and invisible external landscape emerges with architectural planes that are noticeable enough to rest the eye.

The slope of the site posed a challenge not only for construction logistics but also in design. To overcome the steep incline, remain unobtrusive and take advantage of long views, Block 722 created a house partially buried in the earth. The architecture follows natural topographical lines, which ultimately determined the plan and roof. This ensures a harmonious integration into the landscape, making the building almost invisible from the street above and allowing interior spaces to be oriented toward the sea view.
Natural materials, both in the main house and all guest spaces, complement the concrete render structure and reference the wild marine flora around the site. All rooms feature floor-to-ceiling iroko windows oriented toward the water, with openings on both the rear and front facades in the relaxation area. As a result, the interior is modern yet tactile and richly textured. Floors are made of natural stone or terrazzo crafted by a local artisan. A modern wooden roof made from slate boards becomes a central element in living areas. At the same time, unique solid wooden doors enhance the sense that this sanctuary is firmly connected to its place and integrated into its context.

Upon entering through the front door, high ceilings and a clear line of sight from the living room to the sea immediately evoke a sense of spatial drama. Inside, the main house contains a large open relaxation area accompanied by a master bedroom and two other bedrooms. Each space is oriented toward the view, has natural lighting, and access to the outdoors—a feature of seaside architecture.
Extensive outdoor areas are provided for various purposes, reflecting an outdoor lifestyle. A fully equipped kitchen outdoors located near the pool opens access to a dining area and several lounging spots—covered and sun-exposed. The secondary underground section accommodates four independent guest houses that can be used separately, each with their own outdoor spaces and endless views.
