Riverside Comfort in the Heart of Astana

Rising above the Akbulak riverside, one of Astana's most prestigious residential areas, this two-level penthouse spanning 3552 sq ft from Kvadrat Architects offers a unique blend of urban dynamism and tranquil solitude. With views of the Eysil and Akbulak rivers, this penthouse redefines urban living through floor-to-ceiling glass walls, natural materials, and minimalist luxury design.

"This space is designed for decision-making," says Rustam Minnaakhunov. "You are connected to the pulse of the capital, yet you find yourself in a personal oasis."

Minimalism with Soul

The interior combines a limited color palette and clean architectural lines with tactile richness: warm wood, cool marble, weathered brass, and multi-layered textures. This is minimalism that lives, created for quiet contemplation, creative energy, and meaningful family connections.

As co-founder Sergey Bekmukhanbetov says,

"This is not just an interior—it's a timeless space where personality, heritage, and well-being intersect."

Kitchen: The Heart of Connection

The heart of the penthouse is its spacious open kitchen, occupying nearly half of the main floor. Designed with a Poliform Italian kitchen system and furniture from Minotti, it serves not only for cooking but also:

  • Family dinners around a square table for face-to-face conversations

  • Morning reflections with a panoramic city view

  • Guest entertaining in a functional yet visually open layout

This space is filled with natural light, enhanced by minimalist finishes and high-tech design.

Living Room + Panorama: Design Without Boundaries

Every corner of the main living area is visually connected to Astana's landscape through floor-to-ceiling glass walls. The interior does not compete with the view—it unfolds within it, blurring the boundaries between city and sanctuary.

Master Bedroom: Where Light Becomes Art

In the master bedroom, Kvadrat architects replaced ceiling lights with a glowing floating ceiling, softly illuminated like morning sunlight through clouds.

  • Custom-designed side table with leather inlay reflects the headboard color

  • Poliform glass table and sculptural Fiam glass chair highlight the elegance of the room

  • Davide Groppi floor lamp serves both functional and design purposes

Each element reflects the philosophy: authentic, expressive, and thoughtfully curated.

Child's Room: Growing with Stylish Taste

Even the children’s space maintains design integrity, avoiding clichés in favor of durable materials:

  • Inalco porcelain with rust effect

  • Unfinished wood, instead of polished veneer

  • Tangent lever details and custom panel for the box

  • Custom concrete sink and Apollo light fountain by Antonio Lupi, combining water and light in a playful yet refined way

This is a room designed for growth—supporting development, curiosity, and confidence in design from an early age.

Lighting: Shaping Atmosphere

Lighting plays a key role in shaping the penthouse's atmosphere:

  • Hidden track lighting and linear ceiling lights provide clean, unobtrusive illumination

  • Directional lighting adds drama during the day

  • Gentle decorative lighting zones the space and supports mood changes

  • Backlit artwork and custom ceiling solutions enrich the perception of space and depth
