Modern minimalist interior of an apartment with large windows, stylish furniture and contemporary lighting, demonstrating trends in interior design and natural light for urban life

Elegant three-room apartment in Moscow by Alexander Tishler, completed in 2021, features a total area of 1485 square feet and was designed for a growing young family. The combination of minimalist elegance and warm functionality balances between refined open spaces, quiet private zones, and an abundance of well-integrated storage.

Individual Design for a Growing Family

At the beginning of the project, clients — parents of one child — planned a second child. The task was to create two separate children's bedrooms, a living room with a walk-in closet, three bathrooms, a laundry room with storage, and a spacious open kitchen-living area for entertaining guests. The Tishler team delivered the full scope — from concept to production of all custom wardrobe furniture.

Elegant Open Living Room and Kitchen

The kitchen and living room were merged into a bright, spacious room organized around a sculptural marble island, whose airy porcelain surface appears as one solid unit. Rex large-format ceramic tiles continue on the island, windowsill, and worktop to create a cohesive, refined final effect.

Key kitchen features:

  • Pendant lights from solid wood by Foscarini
  • Range with built-in extractor hood for a perfect minimalist line
  • Niche lighting above the worktop
  • Lower drawers and column cabinets (without upper ones) to maintain a clean look

In the living room, a standout wall made of two-tone ceramic Italon is outlined with perimeter lighting. A floating media cabinet conceals electronics, while additional speakers are integrated around the sofa and in the ceiling for immersive sound.

The main trick: a visually dynamic accent bookshelf with textured dark elements and a porcelain background that echoes the final kitchen solutions.

Elegant Living Room with Walk-In Closet

The master bedroom continues the material concept of the project — wall panels and bronze matte mirror accents — and opens to a window without partitions, framing the view toward the balcony. Custom nightstands and layered lighting complete the serene palette.

Rearranged from a narrow corridor, the custom walk-in closet includes:

  • Open shelves for shirts and pants
  • Glass-fronted cabinets with doors for long garments
  • Drawers for accessories
  • A buffer zone to separate private and public areas

The main bathroom features a built-in shower bathtub, mirror with integrated lighting and motion sensor, and a basket for laundry that streamlines daily tasks by directing straight into the service area.

Flexible Children's Spaces

The children's rooms were designed to be flexible: neutral finishes set the stage for changing tastes, and a magnetic track lighting system allows easy repositioning of lights in the future.

A separate children's walk-in closet offers individual drawers, shelves and cubbies. In the children's bathroom, a shower niche, built-in mirror lighting, and hidden laundry basket support organization and cleanliness in daily life.

Utility and Storage Zones, Thoughtfully Integrated

The guest bathroom meets client preferences, and both sides of the main hallway are optimized as storage zones:

  • Left side: Floor-to-ceiling cabinet with hidden access panels for electrical and low-voltage systems
  • Right side: Cabinets with glass fronts for bags and shoes

The laundry room functions as a compact service center with washing and drying machines, water heater and filters, storage for children's strollers, suitcases, and vacuum cleaner, as well as a dedicated steam ironing area matching the custom cabinetry in size.
