Minimalist Apartment Royal Park by LINES Bureau
Designers from LINES Bureau created a high-contrast minimalist interior for a client from Saint Petersburg who loves cooking and plans to work from home.
The main requests of the client were a spacious living room where guests can be accommodated and a cozy isolated bedroom. The interior style is minimalism with contrast of volumes, wood, and stone.
Upon entering the corridor, guests are greeted by a composition of glass partition and full-height mirror that visually expands space and makes it brighter.
One of the goals of the project was to create a convenient workspace in the living room. Designers divided the working area from the rest of the space by building it into a special niche. The partition and storage system with frosted glass and backlighting completed the composition.
The walls and ceiling of the kitchen-living room are painted in one color, emphasizing unity of space, while black-and-white kitchen cabinets with an island and a countertop made of porcelain tile add contrast to the volumes. Seats upholstered in gauze fabric and a cone-shaped lamp enhance the graphic nature of the interior on one side and add comfort on the other.
An interesting feature of the apartment are the balconies in the kitchen and bedroom. “We had to highlight their role in the interior,” says Ekaterina Usova, project author. “On the kitchen side we left some free space in front of the windows so that it's convenient to approach them while cooking. In the bedroom, we used this space as a relaxation area by installing a comfortable chair there.”
The master bedroom differs from other areas, as the client wanted it to be brighter and cozier than others. Although the interior of the apartment is graphic and contrastive, the bedroom is executed in pastel tones with veneer being the dominant material of this area – it appears both on the headboard and on the table in front of it. What adds even more comfort is a soft bed chosen by designers.
