House 2P by AVP Arhitekti
AVP Arhitekti designed House 2P — a residential project for two families located in the premium district of Croatia's capital, Zagreb. It includes over 5,000 square feet of modern living spaces meticulously distributed across a narrow plot.

The challenge was to design a house for two families on a very valuable and exclusive urban site. This plot presents us with a challenge due to its configuration: a steep slope located between Ilica Street (a historically significant street) and the elite street Herzegovina.
The house is designed on a narrow plot oriented from north to south, within dense urban development composed of buildings of various sizes and forms. The layout is determined by the topography of the site and the designer's approach to dividing the house into two residential units.
The main idea was to create a house that can be perceived as a single object despite its functional structure (two living units, garage, technical rooms, etc.). Thanks to these characteristics, the house responds to the configuration of the plot, adapting to its layers and connecting living areas with the external territory at different levels. Thus, internal spaces maintain their privacy. The house offers various views depending on the vantage point. From Herzegovina Street, the project appears as a low structure that encompasses a panoramic view of Zagreb. From the Place of the French Republic, it creates an impression of a large structure winding along the topography with its historical facade on Ilica Street.
The house is an energy-efficient design. The heating and cooling system uses internal walls and floors powered by heat pumps installed on the site.
